Participation guidelines for meetups

This is a translation provided for convenience. Only the German version is legally binding.

We're glad you'd like to come to our meetups! So that everyone feels comfortable and it is clear who is responsible for what, we have summarised the most important points here.

Free, voluntary and privately organised

Our meetups, i.e. muDDi Walks, café meetups and events, are free of charge. There is no membership and there are no obligations. The muDDi Club Dresden is a private, volunteer initiative of our founder and our team, not an association and not a commercial organiser. You can join at any time and leave at any time.

You pay for anything you buy yourself, such as drinks at the café. If there are exceptionally costs for an event, for example at a partner's venue, we will say so clearly in advance.

Participation at your own responsibility

You take part at your own responsibility. We choose routes, meeting points and places with care, but we cannot vouch for their condition, for example of paths, playgrounds, cafés or toilets. Please keep an eye on the weather yourself, wear suitable clothing and bring everything you and your child need. Our weather notes and information on routes, distances and nearby places are without guarantee.

Please make sure you have adequate insurance cover yourself, for example personal liability insurance.

Supervision of children remains with you

You, or the person accompanying your child, remain responsible for supervising your child throughout the meetup. This also applies if someone else helps briefly or keeps an eye on your child. Neither we nor other participants take over supervision.

Liability

Our meetups are a free offer between private individuals. We are only liable for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence. This does not apply to damage resulting from injury to life, body or health, nor where the law mandatorily provides for liability; in these cases we are liable in accordance with the statutory provisions.

If a meetup takes place at a partner's premises, such as a café or course room, their house rules and terms also apply. The partner is responsible for its own offers.

Health and emergencies

If you or your child have something contagious, please stay at home. Together we protect the little ones. In an emergency, call 112 immediately.

Photos at meetups

We sometimes take photos at meetups for our website and Instagram. We only photograph and publish people who agree, and children only with their parents' consent. Wherever possible, we show children in a way that they cannot be recognised. If you do not want to be photographed, just tell us; that is perfectly fine. You can withdraw your consent at any time, for example by email to muddiclubdresden@gmail.com, and we will then remove the photo promptly. More on this in our privacy policy.

Please also ask before you photograph other mums or their children yourself, and do not publish or share photos of others without their consent, including in the WhatsApp community.

Being together in the community

  • We treat each other kindly and respectfully. Every mum is welcome, no matter where she comes from, how old she is, what her family looks like or how she organises her everyday life with her child.
  • We do not judge other people's decisions, for example about feeding, sleep or parenting. Sharing yes, lecturing no.
  • What is shared personally in the community or at meetups stays there. Do not pass on other people's phone numbers, photos or private information without their consent.
  • Advertising, selling and recruiting, for example for network marketing, are only permitted in the community and at meetups by arrangement with us.
  • Sharing experiences is no substitute for advice from doctors, midwives or other professionals.
  • We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, hate speech or abusive behaviour. Anyone who does not follow these rules may be excluded from meetups and from the WhatsApp community.

If something bothers you or has happened to you, talk to us at a meetup or write to us, in confidence if you prefer.

Cancellations and changes

Meetups may be postponed or cancelled at short notice, for example due to severe weather or illness. We announce this in the WhatsApp community and on our website. There is no entitlement to a meetup taking place.
